One UI 9 (Android 17) rolls out to Galaxy S26 via T-Mobile

T-Mobile customers in the United States can now download a 4.1GB over-the-air update that installs One UI 9 on the Galaxy S26 series.

The rollout brings Android 17 with One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra; the carrier builds arriving first in the US carry a firmware version with a build number ending in "BZID". Samsung announced the One UI 9 rollout a week earlier, initially limiting availability to South Korea; the original report, attributed to Vlad and dated 23 September 2026, recorded that initial regional release.

The update upgrades Galaxy S26 models to Android 17 with One UI 9 and introduces Galaxy AI-powered features including My FanCam.

Features and interface changes

My FanCam lets users record a wide-angle shot and then, from the Gallery, select a person in the video so Galaxy AI will track their movements and reframe the footage into a subject-focused clip in the chosen aspect ratio. Samsung also says One UI 9 adds the ability to create and edit Now Brief cards with generative AI and reduces the steps required to use Now Nudge.

Samsung lists additional improvements to Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder in the One UI 9 release notes. The company has also added a new Warranty and Care menu in Settings to consolidate device support and warranty information.

The initial US distribution is through T-Mobile carrier builds; the report states AT&T and Verizon are expected to issue their own versions of the update soon. The update is distributed over the air and requires a 4.1GB download for devices receiving the build that ends in "BZID."
