The move also confirms something a little odd: the company appears to have skipped the Redmi 16 name and jumped straight from the Redmi 15 series to Redmi 17.

Paperwork that talks: memory, battery, and a surprise

Taiwan's NCC database goes further. It lists four memory trims: 4GB with 64GB or 128GB, 4GB with 256GB, and an 8GB option paired with 256GB of storage. Helpful for comparison shopping. Cross-referencing with previous TÜV entries fills in the headline numbers. The Redmi 17 5G looks set to ship with a 7,500mAh battery and a charger capable of up to 45W fast charging.
