Samsung Display is not responsible for the foldable-screen failures reported on Apple’s iPhone Duo.

Samsung supplied only the foldable OLED layer, not the full display assembly in Apple’s 10-layer foldable display.

Available reports and teardown analysis point to a hinge or assembly problem rather than a manufacturing defect in Samsung’s panel.

Fine M-Tec, the hinge maker, denied responsibility for the failures (via Apple Insider).

Samsung Display has supplied foldable OLED panels to Samsung’s mobile division and other overseas OEMs for years and recently became Apple’s foldable-display supplier for the iPhone Duo.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 uses a similar Samsung Display foldable panel but has not shown the same failure pattern.

That leaves Apple design choices, one of Apple’s suppliers such as Foxconn’s assembly, or another supply-chain or integration fault as the most likely sources of the problem.
