A tipster on Weibo says the OnePlus Turbo 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6, a chipset the leaker adds is still being refined and that OnePlus aims to be among the first to ship with it.

The same source says the Turbo 7 will carry a 200MP main camera and a display capable of 185Hz refresh, with a 165Hz system-wide cap, continuing OnePlus' recent hardware push. The handset is said to use a glass body and to lack a periscope telephoto module. The tipster expects the phone to launch by the end of the year.

Related leaks and lineage

The reported camera resolution and peak refresh rate match the OnePlus 16 and the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro, which were announced in China and include 200MP main sensors and 185Hz displays. The Ace 7 series was unveiled last week and features active cooling fans alongside the 185Hz panels.

By comparison, OnePlus' Turbo 6, introduced in China in January, shipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 165Hz screen and a 50MP main camera, making the rumored Turbo 7 a notable specification jump on paper.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 itself has not been formally announced, and prior leaks have suggested the new high-end Qualcomm part might appear under the name Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro. Separately, leaker Digital Chat Station said in late October that a OnePlus Turbo Pro is expected around the end of the year with the alleged chipset, a 6.78-inch 1.5K 185Hz display, a 200MP main camera and a battery of at least 9,000 mAh, which could indicate overlap between the two sets of leaks.

All specification claims above are attributable to the cited tipsters and leaks; OnePlus has not confirmed these details.
