Redmi Watch 6 Active Debuts with Massive Battery Life

If you need a smartwatch that refuses to die halfway through your week, Redmi's latest might be the answer. The Watch 6 Active has just appeared on Xiaomi's Chinese store, and its headline feature is simple: endurance. It pairs a big battery with a bright AMOLED screen and a surprisingly light frame.

Made for long days, light on the wrist

The display measures 1.85 inches with a 390 by 450 pixel density and peaks at 1,200 nits, so outdoor visibility is excellent. The case is 9.9 millimeters thick and built from plastic, which helps keep the weight down to 26 grams without the strap. Inside sits a 470 mAh battery that Xiaomi says delivers about six days of use with the always on display active, roughly 12 days with it off, and up to 18 days in a power saving mode. Those are numbers that change how you plan charging cycles.

Connectivity is modern: Bluetooth 5.3 with BLE support, and the watch can pair with phones running Android 8.0 or newer and iPhones with iOS 14.0 or later. It carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and the sensor suite covers an accelerometer, continuous heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen tracking. You also get sleep and stress tracking, calorie counting, guided breathing and relaxation exercises, and the watch supports Bluetooth calling when paired to a phone.

For active users, the device offers more than 140 sports modes. That's a lot of options for tracking everything from indoor gym sessions to outdoor runs. The watch handles the usual health metrics and packages them into an interface that aims to be approachable rather than intimidating.

Color options listed at launch are Gunmetal, Pink Orange, and Silver. Pricing in the Chinese store is about €46. Based on previous launches and leaks, an official European release seems likely in the near future, though Xiaomi has not confirmed dates yet.

Short, durable, and focused on battery life: the Redmi Watch 6 Active is clearly built for people who want a capable wearable without daily charging.
