BMW has quietly increased the starting price of the redesigned iX3 in Germany by €2,000. The all-electric 50 xDrive now starts at €70,900 — a move that comes as customer deliveries for the second-generation iX3 (internally NA5) began across Europe in late January 2026.
How significant is the increase?
On paper the hike is straightforward: a €2,000 rise to the suggested retail price. For buyers focused on range and technology, the iX3 still offers strong value. BMW lists the 50 xDrive with an impressive WLTP range of 805 km (about 500 miles), and the richer equipment list and EV-focused Neue Klasse platform underpin its premium positioning.

Specifications & performance
The only iX3 variant available in many markets today is the 50 xDrive. It uses a dual-motor setup that BMW rates at up to 469 ps (463 hp). In the right conditions the electric SUV will sprint from 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and is electronically limited to a 210 km/h top speed. Key highlights:

The model is scheduled to arrive in the United States this summer with an EPA-estimated range of roughly 400 miles (around 644 km).
Production ramp and global availability
The iX3 is built on BMW's Neue Klasse architecture and is currently produced at the Debrecen plant in Hungary. Strong early demand has prompted BMW to bring forward a second production shift. Once up to speed, Debrecen is expected to reach production capacity near 150,000 vehicles per year.

Debrecen line-up and future plans
Debrecen will also build the iX4 and the next-generation i3. BMW's M division has signaled an aggressive electrified future: M variants of the Neue Klasse models are expected, and BMW has even hinted at quad-motor high-performance setups for some M-badged versions.
Production for North American and Asian markets is slated to begin in March 2026, and assembly in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, should follow in August 2027. That Mexican complex already produces models like the 2 Series Coupe and 3 Series Sedan, making it a logical extension of BMW's global EV manufacturing footprint.

Market context and buyer perspective
At first glance €70,900 may look steep for a compact premium SUV. But BMW's internal combustion X3 and plug-in hybrid options are also well into premium price territory in Germany — the mild-hybrid X3 starts near €60,300 while the cheapest plug-in hybrid is about €66,900. Mercedes-Benz's GLC with EQ Technology is priced above €71,000, so the iX3 remains competitively positioned.
For many buyers the decisive factors will be real-world range, charging flexibility, and the Neue Klasse's software and battery architecture — not just the sticker price. The slight price increase is unlikely to derail demand this year, especially as orders are already running close to sold out for 2026.
