After years of speculation, Grand Theft Auto VI has finally offered its clearest look yet at life in Leonida. Netflix’s special presentation, titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, delivers around 26 minutes of new gameplay from Rockstar’s highly anticipated open-world crime saga.
The footage is more than a conventional trailer. It moves through story missions, everyday moments, combat, vehicle theft, environmental interactions and a wide range of activities featuring Jason and Lucia. Rockstar has also released the video through its official YouTube channel and the game’s website.

A deal goes bad fast
The presentation opens with Jason and Lucia arriving to complete a drug deal. Predictably, nothing stays simple for long. The situation spirals into a police confrontation, offering a closer look at the updated cover system, revised character animations and the way the two protagonists support each other during firefights.
The footage then shifts away from gunfire and into the pair’s daily routine. Jason and Lucia can interact with their home in several ways, suggesting that properties in GTA 6 will serve a more meaningful role than simply providing a save point or launching the next mission. The home feels lived-in, and that small detail says a lot about Rockstar’s approach to immersion.

Leonida is built for distraction
Players will have plenty to do when they are not following the main story. The gameplay showcase includes basketball, diving, fishing, jet skiing, kayaking, motorcycling, street racing and skydiving, along with other activities spread throughout the city and its surrounding areas.
Animals also appear in the world, and the presentation confirms that players will be able to interact with at least some of them. More broadly, Leonida seems noticeably more reactive than previous Grand Theft Auto settings. Non-playable characters respond to Jason and Lucia in varied ways, while the dense environmental detail helps the world feel busy rather than decorative.
Vehicles have received attention too. Stealing a car is no longer always as straightforward as pulling open the door and driving away. Certain vehicles require specific tools, adding another layer to an activity that has long been central to the series.

Jason and Lucia work as a two-person operation
Character switching remains one of GTA 6’s most important gameplay systems. Depending on the situation, players can move between Jason and Lucia, giving each character a distinct role in an operation.
In one sequence, the pair are positioned in different parts of a building and coordinate their actions at the same time. Switching between them creates a sense of a genuine two-person team rather than simply placing two protagonists in the same scene. Their partnership appears to be woven directly into mission design.
Rockstar also introduced a new system called Criminal Profile. It sits alongside the wanted level and may track the player’s criminal reputation in a way that recalls the Honor system from Red Dead Redemption 2. The exact impact of Criminal Profile remains unclear, but it could influence how the world responds to the player over time.

Protecting a powerful executive
The final major sequence follows a protection mission involving Andrés de León, a senior executive at Megamundo. Jason and Lucia first escort him from the airport to the company’s new office. Their arrival quickly turns violent when an armed group storms the building.
The protagonists become separated, forcing each of them to move through a different section of the office. The mission once again highlights character switching, coordinated movement and the contrasting ways Jason and Lucia can help push an operation forward.
All of the footage was captured directly from the PlayStation 5 version of the game. It showcases detailed environments, expressive animations, a carefully designed city and an impressive draw distance. Rockstar describes GTA 6 as the biggest and most immersive evolution in Grand Theft Auto history.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Until then, this extended gameplay reveal gives fans their strongest indication yet of how Rockstar plans to combine a sprawling open world with more personal, character-driven missions.

Nice visuals, cool activities but feels a tad overstuffed. Criminal Profile sounds promising tho, hope it actually changes things and isnt just cosmetic
wow the home actually feels lived in, that small stuff matters. switching between Jason and Lucia looks so slick, legit excited but also cautious...
