Huawei's Nova 15 series appears to be edging closer to launch after fresh leaks narrow a December window for teasers, the official reveal and on-sale date. Expect early hints any day now.

What the leaks say — and how they might play out

A Chinese tipster known as Fixed Focus Digital Cameras (定焦数码) has narrowed down three December dates: December 15, 22 and 28. While Huawei hasn’t confirmed anything, online chatter suggests a staged rollout — promotional teasers around the 15th, a formal launch event on the 22nd and sales starting on the 28th. If that timeline holds, we should see official teasers and pre-order announcements shortly.

Timing aside, the Nova line may be due for a more visible visual update. For years the series stuck to a familiar camera ring or pill-shaped module and varied back finishes — solid colors, leather or patterned glass — but nothing dramatic. The new leak hints at a clearer design shift, possibly borrowing cues from Huawei’s premium models rather than merely tweaking camera placements.

Early spec leaks — mostly from Digital Chat Station — paint a picture of three models: Nova 15, Nova 15 Pro and Nova 15 Ultra. Key highlights reported so far include:

  • Displays: 1.5K LTPO OLED panels — around 6.7 inches for the base Nova 15 and about 6.84 inches for the Nova 15 Pro.
  • Processors: new Kirin 8-series chips powering the lineup.
  • Front cameras: the Pro could use a dual setup (50MP + 8MP), while the standard model likely sticks with a single 50MP selfie sensor.
  • Rear cameras: the Nova 15 Pro may pack a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto, an ultra-wide and a multispectral sensor to boost color accuracy and low-light performance.

Those camera and screen upgrades suggest Huawei is pushing Nova closer to flagship territory in key areas like imaging and display quality, while still targeting a broader mid-to-premium audience.

What’s still unclear: exact pricing, battery capacities, charging speeds and regional availability. Huawei has adjusted launch plans for past devices to refine hardware and software — so dates could shift. Still, if the December timeline is accurate, official teasers and product pages should appear any day, followed by a formal event and then pre-orders or sales by the end of the month.
