Lines, tweets, and an unmistakable feeling that Apple has nudged the price dial. The iPhone 18 Pro family is official, and it arrives alongside Apple’s first foldable, the iPhone Duo. If you were expecting subtle tweaks, think again.
Pre-orders begin in waves: timing matters.
For buyers in the first wave — including the UK, Germany, France, the US, China, India, Australia, Canada and South Korea — pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max open on Saturday, 12 September, with shipments starting 18 September. Another set of markets will get the phones from 25 September.
The iPhone Duo follows a later cadence. Pre-orders across the same initial territories begin on 16 October, shipments start 23 October, and a second wave of countries receives the Duo from 30 October.

What the launch prices look like in euros
Apple’s region lists included multiple currencies. Below are the local launch tags translated into euro equivalents so you can compare like for like.
- United States: iPhone 18 Pro about €1,103, iPhone 18 Pro Max about €1,195, iPhone Duo about €1,839
- Germany: iPhone 18 Pro €1,449, iPhone 18 Pro Max €1,599, iPhone Duo €2,299
- United Kingdom: iPhone 18 Pro about €1,403, iPhone 18 Pro Max about €1,520, iPhone Duo about €2,339
- India: iPhone 18 Pro about €1,814, iPhone 18 Pro Max about €1,979, iPhone Duo about €3,299
- China: iPhone 18 Pro about €1,300, iPhone 18 Pro Max about €1,430, iPhone Duo about €2,080
- Japan: iPhone 18 Pro about €1,319, iPhone 18 Pro Max about €1,439, iPhone Duo about €2,189
Numbers rounded to whole euros. Expect slight local variations once taxes and regional fees are applied.

So, how big is the change? Compared with last year, the Pro and Pro Max carry an increase equivalent to roughly €92 in the US. European pricing rose by about €150. UK buyers face roughly a €117 jump. In India the rise is approximately €330. China sees an increase near €130. Japanese buyers face a roughly €240 hike.
Those are blunt figures. They tell a story about currency shifts and Apple’s pricing strategy converging: higher baseline prices plus region-specific adjustments. For shoppers, that means the new Pro models cross familiar psychological thresholds in several markets.
Are the new features worth the premium? That depends on what you value. If you want the bleeding edge of camera and display tech, many will argue yes. If you watch every euro, these launches move the conversation from upgrade to trade-off.
Either way, Apple has made a clear choice: this generation is positioned at a higher price point, and buyers will feel it as pre-orders open through September and October.
