Samsung Rolls Out One UI 9 Beta 5 for Galaxy S26 Lineup

If your Galaxy S26 has been stuttering, flashing, or acting oddly in the last few weeks, Samsung has just shipped an update that tries to make those annoyances disappear.

The new One UI 9 Beta 5 arrives with firmware version S948BXXU4ZZH6 and weighs in at about 1.1 GB. It also carries the August 2026 Android security patch, and the changes are practical rather than cosmetic.

What Beta 5 actually fixes

• Stops occasional freezes and white screens in parts of the Settings app.
• Makes camera widget launches from the lock screen faster and more reliable, removing black-screen failures.
• Corrects the bottom floating bar in the Phone app so it displays properly.
• Removes brief blank screens when opening Recent files in My Files.
• Fixes an issue where 1x1 shortcuts wouldn’t add to the bottom home bar.
• Smooths out preview positioning and flicker in the Video and Photo editors.
• Addresses intermittent screen flicker in certain situations.
• Improves Wi-Fi reliability and resolves connection errors.

The update is rolling out to Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra devices. Carriers and regions are doing the release in stages; right now the rollout is confirmed in South Korea, India, Poland, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
