Hans Economy reports Samsung is considering raising Galaxy S26 series prices in South Korea by KRW 149,600 per model, effective October 1, 2026.

Notifications sent to local telecom carriers say the increase would be a uniform KRW 149,600 across the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Galaxy S26: KRW 1,254,000 (~$934) to KRW 1,403,600 (~$1,046).

Galaxy S26+: KRW 1,452,000 (~$1,082) to KRW 1,601,600 (~$1,194).

Galaxy S26 Ultra: KRW 1,797,400 (~$1,340) to KRW 1,947,000 (~$1,451).

The report links the proposed hike to surging memory chip costs.

Distribution networks and retailers warn the higher prices could further depress smartphone sales in a sluggish South Korean economy and prompt consumers to delay upgrades.

The report notes the move follows recent price increases from Apple for new iPhones and higher prices for existing iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch models.

The report says the used-phone market may strengthen as more consumers hold older devices longer.
