Buick has launched the all-new 2027 LaCrosse sedan in China, introducing a substantially revised electrical architecture, a redesigned cabin and a next-generation SAIC-GM platform while keeping the model exclusive to the Chinese market.
Platform, dimensions and exterior
The 2027 LaCrosse rides on SAIC-GM's next-generation platform, which first appeared in 2025 under the Electra sub-brand's electrified lineup. Buick says the platform has been heavily adapted to accommodate internal combustion powertrains while supporting advanced digital systems. Exterior changes are evolutionary: a broader, low-mounted front grille, revised bumpers, hidden exhaust tips and sharper front and rear lamps give a wider, more modern appearance without changing the sedan's silhouette. Overall length remains 196.9 inches (5,003 millimeters) and wheelbase remains 114.3 inches (2,905 millimeters).

Interior and technology
Buick describes the cabin as the biggest shift for the new generation, listing more than 50 premium upgrades focused on luxury, comfort and technology. The previous curved screen layout has been replaced by a large floating center infotainment screen paired with a digital instrument cluster. The system runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 architecture and, according to Buick, delivers voice-control responses in under 0.3 seconds and offers cloud connectivity.
The steering wheel, center console and seats are all new. Upper trims include active multi-stage ventilation and heating and, Buick says, six-point pneumatic massage functions in all four seats. The premium seats use multi-density 3D foam with extended thigh support.

Powertrain, performance and driver assistance
The LaCrosse retains its existing powertrain: Buick's eighth-generation Ecotec 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. A nine-speed automatic transmission drives the front wheels.
- Power: 233 horsepower (237 metric horsepower)
- Torque: 258 pound-feet (350 Newton meters)
- 0 to 60 mph: 7.2 seconds
- Top speed: 143 mph (230 kph)
The car features a Level 2+ e-Cruise suite that Buick says controls 14 active assistance systems, including lane centering, full-speed adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, forward collision warning and automated parking.

Trim levels, pricing and availability
Buick is offering the LaCrosse in two trims in China: the LaCrosse Smart Edition starting at 149,900 yuan (approximately $22,500) and the Supreme Edition at 169,900 yuan (approximately $25,500). The model has begun arriving at Buick dealerships across China. Buick has no plans to reintroduce the LaCrosse to North America; the sedan was retired from the U.S. market after the 2019 model year as Buick moved to an all-SUV lineup.
