Mitsubishi Motors North America will unveil the 2028 Outlander Diamond Trail Edition at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, marking the model's world debut and the brand's first SEMA appearance since 2012.
The Diamond Trail Edition is an off-road focused Outlander designed for North America and described by Mitsubishi as "the most capable and adventure-focused Outlander ever offered in North America."

Mitsubishi says the model adds off-road bodywork, all-terrain tires, revised approach and departure angles, and a new Rock drive mode to lead a new family of off-road-capable Outlanders.
Rock mode upgrades brake control to reduce wheel slip and help secure traction, Mitsubishi says. The mode is faster than other S-AWC all-wheel drive settings and adds a cluster screen showing front-wheel steering angle, individual wheel slip, and traction-control intervention.

The Multi-View Camera System can remain on up to 18.6 mph (30 kph). When Rock mode is selected, Hill Descent Control is automatically activated and is adjustable for the speed at which it holds the vehicle, Mitsubishi says.
Exterior changes include a matte black grille, black Dynamic Shield trim, black-finish headlights, redesigned front and rear bumpers and new over-fenders. Approach angle improves from 18.3 to 20.5 degrees and departure angle from 22.2 to 23.1 degrees.

The Diamond Trail Edition rides on unique 18-inch black alloy wheels fitted with Nexen Roadian ATX all-terrain tires and gains raised roof rails.
Inside, the model uses a water-repelling dark grey material with khaki stitching plus textured matte black, dark chrome and dark satin trim. A Diamond Trail Edition logo is applied to the seat backs, floor mats and door trim.

Mitsubishi will offer the Diamond Trail Edition in a new Trail Green Metallic color and will showcase six vehicles at SEMA, from factory-built adventure models to customization concept builds, as part of its Momentum 2030 business plan.

MMNA reported 18,543 retail deliveries in the third quarter of 2026. The company also recently revealed pricing for the 2027 Eclipse Sportback, which is based on the Nissan Leaf and starts at an MSRP of almost $38,000.
Mitsubishi will exhibit at Booth 52249 in West Hall during the SEMA Show, November 3-6, 2026.
