A flash of Cabernet Red showed up online and suddenly the rumor mill had to catch up. Xiaomi didn’t wait long to confirm what that color hinted at. The company has officially lifted the curtain on the Redmi K100 Pro Max design and set a China launch date of August 11.

Cabernet Red steals the spotlight

Official renders match the cherry-toned leaks, but the real story is in the details. The K100 Pro Max arrives with a flat 6.9-inch display framed by ultra-narrow bezels, giving the screen a wide, cinematic look. Around the edges you get a curved metal frame that echoes the shape of the K90 Pro Max, so this feels more like evolution than reinvention.

Flip the phone and the camera island makes its intentions clear. A triple-camera array houses a periscope telephoto lens for long-range shots, while other modules handle wide and ultra-wide duties. Audiophiles should note a small but unexpected carryover: a Bose-powered rear woofer returns from the previous model, a reminder that Xiaomi still sees sound as part of the flagship experience.

Pre-reservations are already open in China through Xiaomi’s official store, which means the company is teeing up early demand ahead of the formal launch. But what about price? Xiaomi President Lu Weibing has hinted that the Redmi K100 Pro will land at roughly €520. The standard Redmi K100 will be announced at a later date, according to his post.

There are still blanks to fill. Exact global availability, detailed specs and whether the Pro Max name will carry the same hardware across markets remain unknown. For now, the narrative is simple: bold color, a large flat screen, serious optics and a dose of audio flair. That combination could be enough to turn heads when the handset arrives next month.
