Nubia has launched the CyberBuds, a gamer-focused pair of true wireless earbuds that lean into a bold alien-inspired design and RGB lighting. Lightweight buds, a feature-packed charging case with a tiny display, and deep sound customization via the +Nubia Life app position these as an intriguing value option for style-minded mobile gamers.
Eye-catching design, customizable lighting
The two-piece CyberBuds clearly take visual cues from extraterrestrial aesthetics. The charging case includes RGB illumination and a small built-in display, while the earbuds themselves feature matching light effects. All lighting presets and colors are adjustable through the +Nubia Life companion app, allowing you to sync effects or create your own scenes.
Each earbud weighs just 3.6 grams, keeping them discreet and comfortable for long sessions. The charging case tips the scales at 58 grams and includes a practical slot for attaching a strap.
On the connectivity side, CyberBuds use Bluetooth 5.4 and support instant pairing as soon as you open the case lid. Users of Nubia's RedMagic phones get a dedicated pop-up pairing window for faster setup.

Nubia equips the CyberBuds with FlashLink 2.0 audio technology and claims a full-path latency of 50 milliseconds, which is low enough to make the buds a solid pick for mobile gaming. The +Nubia Life app also offers game-optimized sound modes — including presets for first-person shooters and racing titles — plus a manual equalizer for fine-tuning.
Battery specs are straightforward: each bud houses a 35 mAh cell and the case packs a 500 mAh battery. You can expect about six hours of playback on a single earbud charge, and roughly 48 hours total when using the charging case.
Price is aggressive: Nubia set the CyberBuds at 199 CNY (around $28) at launch in China. Between the unique styling, low-latency focus, and app-driven customization, they’re an attractive option for gamers looking for flair without a big price tag.
