At an Apple event on 13 October 2026 the company unveiled the HomePod mini 2 alongside Apple HomeView, an upgraded Apple TV 4K, and the Apple Home Collection. The new speaker brings Siri AI, a visual Sound Glow, support for multi-speaker pairing and five fresh color options.
Apple says the HomePod mini 2 is powered by the S10 chip, which enables the device’s new Siri AI capabilities. The company also says Siri AI will require the speaker to be paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad.

Apple describes Siri AI as able to recognize up to six users by voice and to deliver personalized messages. Those user-recognition and personalization features will not be available at launch; Apple plans to add them through a future software update.
Sound Glow and multi-speaker setup
The HomePod mini 2 introduces a Sound Glow feature that turns the speaker’s touch surface into a digital canvas that glows and animates while music plays. Apple says the animation uses colors drawn from the song’s album art to create a visual accompaniment.

Users can pair up to four HomePod mini speakers to create a four-speaker surround setup when used with the new Apple TV 4K. The device also functions as a home hub and can control compatible smart home devices.
Apple has opened pre-orders for the HomePod mini 2 through the Apple Store in the US and 23 regions. The speaker will be offered in blue, green, pink, midnight, and white, and is priced at $149 in the US. It will go on sale starting October 30.
