A Brazilian electronics distributor says a shipment of Zotac custom GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards, with an estimated value of about $470,000, has disappeared after arriving at São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport. The distributor, Oderco, announced the loss on Instagram and said the cards appeared to have reached the airport but were later unaccounted for.
Oderco described the incident as unprecedented in its 38-year history. The company said the missing consignment comprised two pallets of RTX 5090 units but did not publish an arrival date or a tracking number. Oderco also says its inquiries so far have produced no formal response from airport authorities or other parties, prompting the distributor to seek explanation through social media.
Context, availability and estimated quantity
The disappearance comes amid a period of limited availability for the RTX 5090. The flagship Nvidia card has been largely absent from online stores since mid-September, and there have been rumors that Nvidia paused production to prioritize higher-priced professional AI accelerators; Nvidia has denied those claims. The exact number of cards in the missing shipment is unclear because Oderco only specified that the cargo consisted of two pallets.
Retail listings cited by local reporting show the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 listed on Amazon at roughly $8,000 and on the Brazilian site Promotech at 33,999.99 reais. Based on those public prices and the distributor's account, observers have estimated the missing shipment could contain at least 63 individual cards. Oderco also said its purchase cost for the consignment was 2,500,000 reais, a figure that reflects the company's acquisition price rather than a final retail value; the market value of the shipment would be higher.
