This Skoda Epiq Render Imagines an RS-Style Makeover

Imagine walking up to Skoda’s smallest electric crossover and finding it wearing a race jacket. That’s the first thought when you see the latest renderings of the Epiq dressed up as an RS, courtesy of Instagram artist rotislav_prokop. It’s playful, provocative, and a reminder that small cars can still look seriously mean.

The CGI version swaps the Epiq’s modest lines for a full-on body kit: new bumper vents, a sharper splitter, blacked-out grille and trim, and tighter lighting clusters that push the main lamps closer to the daytime running lights. Black Skoda script on the tailgate, an RS badge to the right, faux exhaust trims and a beefed-up diffuser finish the look. Larger wheels, wider fenders and red brake calipers complete the visual argument that this subcompact could wear performance styling convincingly.

RS styling and the bits that matter

Inside the renders you get hints of brown leather, sportier front seats with extra side bolstering, a flat-bottom wheel and a panoramic roof. The artist imagines revised screen software and RS logos sprinkled where fans expect them. It’s the sort of attention to detail that sells a fantasy: not just louder cosmetics, but an interior that feels like it belongs to someone who drives with intent.

Could Skoda actually build this? The Epiq rides on VW Group’s MEB+ architecture, the same platform under a handful of small EVs across the group. In theory, that means it could borrow punchier electric drivetrains from cousin models. In practice, a bona fide factory RS for this segment seems unlikely right now. Still, the renders do point to what a hotter Epiq would need beyond style: more power, stiffer suspension and a bit less ride height.

A true RS Epiq is possible on paper, but unlikely to arrive any time soon.

When it comes to the actual lineup, Skoda will offer the Epiq in 35, 40 and 55 trims. The 35 and 40 use a 37 kWh lithium-ion pack paired with front-drive motors rated at 114 and 133 horsepower respectively, with a claimed range of up to 190 miles (306 km). The range-topping 55 swaps in a 52 kWh NMC battery and a 208-horsepower motor, stretching range to 272 miles (438 km).

Charging speeds vary across the range: the 35 supports up to 50 kW DC, the 40 up to 90 kW, and the 55 up to 105 kW. For buyers focused on everyday practicality rather than outright pace, those numbers are compelling — especially given the Epiq’s compact footprint and urban-friendly packaging.

Price will matter. Skoda’s European entry price has been set at €25,900 for the Essence 350. The model that will reach the UK, the Epiq SE L 40, starts at about €29,440 — the base 35 won’t be offered there — while the First Edition 55 is roughly €37,120. A hypothetical RS variant, with proper performance hardware, would likely push past €47,200 before options.

Renderings like these do more than fan fantasies. They spark conversation about what small EVs could be: sporty, distinctive and fun without losing the practicality that brings many buyers to Skoda in the first place. For now, the fashionable RS look lives on screens and social feeds, not on dealer lots.

Would a compact, performance-oriented Epiq find buyers? Probably. Would Skoda build one? That’s the question. If demand shows up and the numbers add up, we might someday see an Epiq that turns heads for reasons beyond clever CGI.
