Stellantis has started building the Leapmotor B10 compact SUV at its Zaragoza, Spain, assembly complex, adding a Chinese-designed model to the same facility that produces the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa and Lancia Ypsilon.

Production arrangement and partnership

The B10 project is a joint industrial effort: Stellantis supplies manufacturing capacity and European-market expertise while Leapmotor remains responsible for its product development and technologies. Stellantis holds roughly 20 percent of Leapmotor, the Hangzhou-based automaker founded a little over a decade ago. Company statements say spare production output and the Zaragoza plant's experience were decisive in hosting the model. Neither company has disclosed expected first-year volumes for the Euro-focused B10.

The production launch drew senior political and industry representatives, underscoring the manufacturers' view of the programme's importance for European manufacturing. The B10 is a different vehicle on a different platform from the CMP platform used by the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa and Lancia Ypsilon, which are produced at Zaragoza as of October 2026.

Powertrains and range

Leapmotor offers the B10 in full-electric and extended-range electric vehicle EREV configurations. Full-electric customers can choose variants advertised at 361 or 434 kilometres of range on a full charge, corresponding to 224 to 270 miles from 56.2 or 67.1 kilowatt-hours of battery capacity. Leapmotor states the full-electric models can charge from 30 to 80 percent state of charge in 19 minutes.

The B10 EREV uses an 18.8 kilowatt-hour battery paired with a 1.5-litre internal combustion engine and a 50-litre fuel tank. Leapmotor describes the EREV powertrain as a range-extender architecture in which the engine does not drive the wheels but generates electricity when required, and the company quotes up to 900 kilometres of WLTP driving range for the extended-range setup (just under 600 miles).

Equipment, pricing and market positioning

Stellantis and Leapmotor describe the collaboration as part of an effort to make electric mobility more accessible and competitive in Europe, and they say producing the B10 in Spain supports Leapmotor's expansion ambitions in international markets. The Spanish launch price for the B10 starts at 23,900 euros.

Stellantis' use of existing manufacturing operations to assemble a partner vehicle that rides on a different platform illustrates how the company can accommodate third-party programmes without creating dedicated new lines. Production volumes, detailed launch timetable and specific market allocations for the Zaragoza-built B10 have not been disclosed.
