Tipster Digital Chat Station says vivo is developing a wide-screen candybar-style smartphone aimed at a 2027 launch and that the device will likely have a display under 6.5 inches.

The tipster offered no further technical or release details.

Since Huawei unveiled the Pura X View earlier this year, several Chinese smartphone brands, including Oppo, Honor and most recently Xiaomi, have been linked to wide-screen phone projects.

Huawei's Pura X View features a 6.39-inch display. Leaks have suggested Oppo's rumored Reno X wide-screen phone would use a 6.35-inch screen.

This suggests vivo could choose a similar display size.

More leaks should give a clearer picture of what vivo has planned for its wide-screen phone ahead of the expected 2027 launch.
