Mazda announced the 2027 Mazda3 for the United Kingdom will be hatchback-only; the Mazda3 Saloon is being retired and the range uses a single powertrain: the 140 ps (138 hp) 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G engine with cylinder deactivation and Mazda M-Hybrid mild-hybrid technology.

Trim levels are Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line, Homura Plus and Takumi; Homura Plus is new for 2027.

Except for Prime-Line and Centre-Line, all grades are offered with either manual or automatic transmissions. Aero Grey joins the exterior colour range.

The base Prime-Line gains evolved Smart Brake Support, Emergency Lane Keep and enhanced Blind Spot Monitoring. Driver Monitoring is now fitted across all trim levels.

Exclusive-Line adds gunmetal grey interior decoration and the Adaptive LED headlights have a revised internal finish.

Homura Plus adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system, black leather seats with power adjustment, gunmetal and gloss black interior trim, a 360-degree view monitor and exterior LED signature lighting.

Mazda introduced the current Mazda3 at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. The hatchback’s styling traces to the 2017 Kai concept and it won World Car Design of the Year in 2020; global production exceeds 1.5 million units.

"The Mazda3 remains one of the best-looking and most fun to drive hatchbacks on the market, while the e-Skyactiv G engine blends excellent torque and drivability with strong efficiency. Combine this with the Mazda3’s award-winning styling, and it’s easy to see why it remains a benchmark car in the compact hatchback sector," said Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK Managing Director.

The updated 2027 Mazda3 will arrive in the UK later this year.
