Homture at IFA 2026: AI Magic Frame Turns Digital Photos Into Interactive Memories

Homture used IFA 2026 to showcase a different take on the digital photo frame. Instead of simply displaying a slideshow, its AI Magic Frame combines a Full HD display, AI-generated visual effects, motion sensing, large internal storage and collaborative photo sharing.

During our booth visit, the company also previewed several products that are not yet on the market, including a Magic E-Ink Canvas designed to resemble traditional artwork while operating for exceptionally long periods without frequent charging.

AI Magic Frame is Homture’s current hero product

The main product demonstrated to us was the AI Magic Frame, which the company said is already available through Joybuy.

Unlike a conventional digital frame, the device uses a Full HD screen and includes AI-powered templates that can transform still images into more animated or stylized scenes.

One example shown at the booth involved pet photos. Homture demonstrated how AI could make a pet appear to wave or perform different animated actions.

The company also showed themed templates inspired by fantasy imagery, including a Harry Potter-style presentation.

An embedded radar wakes the frame when someone approaches

One of the more distinctive features is an integrated motion-sensing radar.

According to Homture, when someone walks near the frame, it can detect the movement and proactively display a random photo in an attempt to attract attention.

That means the product does not need to remain visually active all the time to be useful. Instead, it can react to people entering the room.

64GB internal storage and unlimited cloud storage

Homture says the AI Magic Frame includes 64GB of internal storage.

The representative also said the device comes with free unlimited cloud storage, giving users another way to keep larger collections accessible.

It supports common photo and video formats as well as Live Photos, according to the booth presentation.

Multi-user albums turn it into a shared family frame

The software is also designed around collaborative use.

Multiple people can contribute to the same album, allowing family members or friends to upload photos to a shared frame.

When another member adds something new, the user can receive a notification.

That makes the product particularly suitable for families living in different places, where several people may want to keep one shared photo collection continuously updated.

Gifting Mode lets the memories arrive before the frame does

Homture also demonstrated a Gifting Mode.

The idea is that the buyer can prepare and upload the photos before giving the frame to someone else.

When the recipient opens the device, the memories are already there.

That removes the usual setup process where someone receives a digital frame first and then has to manually add all of the content afterward.

Homture specifically positioned this feature around occasions such as Christmas, anniversaries and family gifts.

Homture says the frame performed strongly after launch

According to the company representative, the AI Magic Frame was launched last year and became the top-ranked product in its category during Black Friday.

Homture also claimed it sold more than 5,000 units through TikTok in the US during its first month.

We could not independently verify those specific sales and ranking figures from publicly available sources, so they should be treated as figures provided by Homture at the booth.

The company quoted a regular European retail price of €169.99, with an IFA promotional price of €99.99.

The representative said the product could be ordered through Joybuy. Joybuy itself officially launched its European retail operation in March 2026 and currently serves Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK.

Magic E-Ink Canvas previews a very different kind of digital frame

Homture also showed us products expected to appear more prominently around CES, including its upcoming Magic E-Ink Canvas.

Unlike the AI Magic Frame, this model is intended to look much closer to a physical painting.

The company said it uses an E Ink Spectra 6 color display, allowing it to reproduce artwork without the constant illuminated appearance of a conventional LCD screen.

The booth representative described it as a kind of personal AI art gallery for the home.

Up to two years between charges

One of the biggest advantages of the E-Ink Canvas is power consumption.

Because e-paper consumes very little energy when an image remains static, Homture said the device could operate for up to two years on a charge, depending on use.

It also avoids the need for a permanent power cable, meaning it can be placed more like a traditional framed artwork.

Thousands of artworks and AI-generated styles

The company said the Magic E-Ink Canvas will include access to around 10,000 licensed classic artworks.

Rather than requiring users to upload every image themselves, the frame is intended to arrive with a large art library already available.

Users can also generate their own artwork through AI, including styles inspired by movements such as Impressionism.

The representative mentioned Van Gogh-style transformations as one example of the kind of AI-generated art the system can create.

Spectra 6 is aimed at making digital art look less digital

Homture said the screen can reproduce around 63,000 colors, helping artwork appear closer to printed or painted material than a typical glowing digital display.

The company also claimed storage for as many as 3,800 images on the Magic E-Ink Canvas.

Because this product has not yet reached the market and detailed public specifications remain limited, those figures are based on the information Homture provided during our IFA demonstration.

Two different approaches to putting AI on the wall

The most interesting thing about Homture’s booth was that the company is approaching digital frames from two very different directions.

The AI Magic Frame is dynamic and interactive. It can animate photos, detect people walking nearby, receive new images from family members and arrive preloaded as a personalized gift.

The Magic E-Ink Canvas, by contrast, is designed to disappear more naturally into the home. Its goal is to resemble conventional artwork while adding a large digital library and AI-generated art behind the scenes.

For Homture, IFA 2026 showed that the humble digital photo frame is becoming less about simply displaying JPEGs and more about combining memory, AI and home decoration in one device.
