Jeep Grows 2027 Grand Cherokee Lineup with New Trims

You can still feel the Grand Cherokee's silhouette a mile away, but for 2027 Jeep has quietly broadened its mission. The nameplate that keeps dealers busy in North America returns with three fresh trim levels, a four‑cylinder powerhouse, and a handful of subtle but important updates that nudge the lineup toward a wider set of buyers.

Trail-ready tweaks and a four-cylinder twist

Under the skin, buyers now pick between two engines. The familiar 3.6‑liter Pentastar V6 remains the baseline for the Laredo and Laredo X. Higher up the range, Jeep swaps in a new turbocharged 2.0‑liter called Hurricane. It makes a brisk 324 horsepower and 332 lb‑ft of torque (450 Nm) between 3,000 and 4,500 rpm. Short sentence. It’s a tidy balance of punch and efficiency.

Jeep didn’t stop at powertrains. Certain models now offer up to 11.4 inches (290 mm) of ground clearance and a towing capability of 6,200 pounds (2,812 kg). Off‑road geometry is respectable too, with approach, breakover and departure angles that speak to real capability: 36, 24.4 and 30.3 degrees respectively.

The entry Laredo and Laredo X trims get an interior refresh that matters. A larger 10.1‑inch infotainment screen replaces the old 8.4‑inch unit. Designers also fit redesigned 18‑inch aluminum wheels that give the bottom of the range a firmer visual link to the Altitude. Small changes. Big improvement in perceived quality.

Between Altitude and Limited sits a new Upland grade, leaning into off‑road styling with Trailhawk cues. It rolls on Trailhawk‑style wheels shod with 265/60 all‑terrain rubber, features Vapor Gray tow hooks and Dark Neutral Gray exterior accents, and wears Global Black Capri leatherette with suede inserts inside.

The Limited gets upgrades too: fresh 20‑inch wheels, rain‑sensing wipers and a wireless phone charger. The Reserve adds auto‑dimming power side mirrors as standard. On the color front, Jeep expanded the palette with eight additions, including Red Rock, Ember, Midnight Sky and Olive Green. Most of those new finishes are listed as late availability, though exact timing remains unclear.

One headline many were waiting for: the Trailhawk returns. Jeep confirms the Trailhawk will get Hurricane power and a starting price of approximately €50,595, which places it roughly €3,000 above the Upland. For shoppers on a tighter budget, the base grade lands around €38,194, including a destination charge of about €1,835.

All told, the 2027 Grand Cherokee lineup expands to 10 grades, with the Summit perched at the top for buyers seeking maximum luxury. Production remains at the Mack and Jefferson plants inside the Stellantis Detroit Assembly Complex, and Jeep expects dealer arrivals in late 2026.

What this lineup shuffle really does is widen the Grand Cherokee’s appeal. Want traditional V6 smoothness? It’s there. Seeking turbocharged thrift and torque in a smaller package?
