Redmi has revealed a new Firefly Green finish for its upcoming K100 smartphone ahead of an official launch in China on Oct. 27. The company says the K100 targets users who prioritise long battery life and gaming performance, and it has published images showing the new colour and the phone’s exterior design before the debut.

Design and visible hardware

The Firefly Green model shows a light green rear panel, a flat display with a centered punch-hole cutout and a wide, horizontally arranged camera module on the back. A metal frame is visible around the edges, and a Bose tuning logo appears alongside the camera module, which Redmi presented as an indication of an audio focus for the device.

Redmi confirmed the K100 will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with a dedicated D2 display chip. Redmi markets this as a dual-chip setup intended to enable hardware-level image upscaling and frame interpolation in compatible games; frame interpolation refers to generating intermediate frames to make motion appear smoother.

The company is promoting a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. Redmi says the phone’s Super Pixel technology delivers visual clarity comparable to a 2K panel while keeping power consumption similar to a 1K screen.

Battery reports indicate the K100 will include a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging, which would be the largest battery yet reported for a Redmi K-series phone. A 50W wireless charging option has also been rumoured; Redmi has not confirmed the wireless figure at this time.

Other specifications circulating ahead of launch include a 200-megapixel primary camera, a periscope telephoto camera, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and IP68-rated protection. These details remain unconfirmed unless explicitly announced by Redmi.

Redmi previously rebadged the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max as the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra for global markets. The company has not clarified whether the standard K100 will be released internationally under a Poco name.
