Those figures are modelled, not prescriptive, but they underscore a clear principle: how you distribute activity across the day matters.

What counts as light activity? Standing up, walking for a few minutes, climbing stairs, or doing simple household chores. The intensity need not be high to interrupt the harmful physiology of long sedentary bouts. And the more consistently you break long sitting periods, the better the metabolic profile appears to be.
